BACT Resources, Inc. - History

Best Available Control Testing, Inc. opened its doors in 1995 under the direction of Dave Ramold, President and owner. As part of recent expansion activities, and the addition of an upcoming product line, Best Available Control Testing, Inc. has now proudly become BACT Resources, Inc. Located in Houston, Texas, BACT has tested engines and turbines throughout the state, and has performed testing services in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alabama, New Mexico, and Colorado.

Holding a meteorology degree from the University of Nebraska, Dave began working various ambient monitoring projects beginning in 1987. As a result of TCEQ 106.512 and its enforcement, previously known as exemption VI, demand for his services soared and his testing expertise blossomed. Because of his persistent specialization and long-term commitment to his industry, Dave has become a respected authority in the subject of source testing.

Dave’s farm background, education and technical expertise proved a perfect match for performing field engine testing. Despite its modest size, BACT stubbornly avoided cookie cutter testing equipment packages, and insisted on custom building & utilizing their own unique, state-of-the-art mobile laboratories. Complete with full data acquisition capabilities not found in large stack testing firms, BACT mobile laboratories set the standard for accurate and reliable mobile source emission compliance testing.

BACT is unique to source testing. Unlike their competition, they are driven specialists in the industry, and concentrate only on combustion testing. In fact, every test to date has been on engines, turbines, or boilers. This approach enables BACT to better serve their customers by providing money saving, refined testing services. Their extensive combustion engine knowledge gives them the ability to manage out of compliance engines into compliance. Working with site mechanics, BACT specialists carefully optimize the customer’s engine, ultimately saving the customer money. This advantage is the reason most compressor lease companies and consulting firms recommend BACT Resources, Inc. Aided by the resurgence of the oil and gas industry, BACT Resources, Inc. has grown dramatically over the last few years. BACT continues to surge forward with a soon to be introduced product line. Additionally, BACT is unveiling two additional sparkling new testing laboratories, has revamped website, and added new faces to their professional office staff. Employing a “what ever it takes” attitude, BACT personnel is committed to earning the highest level of customer satisfaction possible.
